Getting Started

Frequently Asked Questions

Is RideRight free?

Yes. All 10 lessons, all quizzes, the Final Exam, and the certificate are completely free. There are no locked features, no subscription, and no paywall. Optional donations are available if you want to support the app.

Does the app require an account or internet connection?

No. RideRight works entirely offline. No account is required. All progress is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

Will my progress be lost if I delete the app?

Yes. All progress — completed lessons, quiz scores, badges, streaks, and your certificate name — is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes this data permanently.

How does the quiz scoring work?

Each module quiz has 8 questions. You need to answer at least 80% correctly (7 out of 8) to pass. The Final Exam has 75 questions and also requires 80% to pass. You can retake any quiz as many times as you like — only your best score is recorded.

What is the Final Exam?

The Final Exam is a 75-question test covering all 10 modules. It is unlocked after you pass all 10 module quizzes. The questions are written as variants — similar knowledge tested from different angles — so you need to understand the material, not just memorize quiz answers. A score of 80% or higher (60 out of 75) is required to pass.

How do I earn my certificate?

Pass all 10 module quizzes and then pass the Final Exam. Once both are complete, the Certificate tab unlocks. Enter your name, and you can export your Road Ready certificate as a PDF or image and share it with anyone.

What are badges and how do I earn them?

There are 6 badges: Class Act (complete the E-Bike Classes module), Helmet Hero (complete the Gear and Helmets module), Road Scholar (complete all 10 lessons), First Pass (pass your first quiz), Perfect Run (score 100% on any quiz), and Road Ready (pass the Final Exam). Badges are awarded automatically when you meet the criteria.

What is a day streak?

Your streak counts how many consecutive days you have been active in the app — completing a lesson or passing a quiz. The streak resets if you skip a day.

Are the e-bike laws in this app accurate for my state?

RideRight covers US-general e-bike guidelines. E-bike laws vary significantly by state, county, and city — including age requirements, helmet mandates, speed limits, and where e-bikes are allowed. Always check the specific laws that apply where you live before riding. The app is an educational starting point, not a substitute for local legal research.

Does the certificate mean I am licensed to ride?

No. The Road Ready certificate confirms completion of this educational program only. It is not a government license, permit, or legal credential of any kind, and does not grant any legal right to operate an e-bike.

What are the optional donations for?

RideRight is maintained by an independent developer. Optional donations help cover the Apple Developer Program fee, ongoing maintenance, and content updates. Donations are processed securely by Apple and do not unlock any additional features — everything in the app is already free.

I made a donation but something went wrong. How do I get a refund?

All purchases are processed by Apple. For refund requests, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
