P2P CoParent — Privacy Policy

Overview

P2P CoParent is a private co-parenting ledger. Your privacy is the foundation of how this app is designed. All data you enter — expenses, custody records, journal entries, and reimbursements — is stored exclusively on your device and is never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party.

Data Stored On Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your device using Apple's encrypted SwiftData framework. It is never transmitted to any server and never shared with any third party:

• Expenses — Amount, category, date, who paid, split percentage, notes, and attached receipt photos.
• Custody periods — Start and end dates, which parent had the child, planned vs. actual status, child name, and notes.
• Journal entries — Date, title, and body text of any notes you record.
• Reimbursements — Payment records linked to shared expenses, including amounts paid and dates.
• Parent names — The names you enter in Settings for yourself and the other parent, stored in iOS UserDefaults.
• PDF Export purchase status — Whether you have purchased PDF Export is verified through Apple StoreKit and cached locally.

All of the above data lives exclusively on your device. Deleting the app removes it entirely.

Pairing Key and Keychain

When you pair with the other parent, P2P CoParent generates a shared 256-bit encryption key. This key is stored in your device's iOS Keychain, which is Apple's secure credential storage. The key is used to encrypt and decrypt synced ledger data. It never leaves your device except as encrypted payload exchanged directly with the other parent's device during a Bluetooth hand-off sync. The pairing key is not accessible to us or any third party.

Bluetooth Sync

P2P CoParent uses Bluetooth (via Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework) for direct device-to-device sync during in-person hand-offs. All data exchanged over Bluetooth is encrypted end-to-end using the shared pairing key. No data is routed through any server or internet connection during a sync. Bluetooth is used only when you explicitly tap Start hand-off on the Sync screen.

In-App Purchases

PDF Export is available as a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or process any payment information.

Analytics and Tracking

P2P CoParent contains no analytics tools, crash reporters, behavioral tracking frameworks, or advertising SDKs. We do not collect usage statistics or telemetry of any kind. There are no ads in the app.

Data Collection Summary

We collect no personal data. All app data is stored locally on your device. The app makes no network requests to any server operated by us. The only external network communication is with Apple's servers for StoreKit purchase verification, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

P2P CoParent is intended for use by adults managing shared parenting arrangements. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
