The Andy Terminal is a professional-grade financial terminal for macOS. It gives you real-time market data, a full options chain, strategy calculators, and fundamental research tools — all in one window, with no brokerage account required.
The app works out of the box for market data and options — no account required. For the full experience, add these free API keys in Settings:
No. All market data (quotes, options chains, price history) comes from Yahoo Finance, which is freely accessible without an account. Financial statements come from SEC EDGAR, also free and open to the public.
Market makers only quote options during regular trading hours (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET). Outside those hours, or for illiquid strikes, bid/ask/mark may be unavailable. Try again when the market is open, or select a more liquid expiration with higher open interest.
Delta is computed locally using the Black-Scholes model with Yahoo Finance's implied volatility. Brokers may use different models or live Greeks from an exchange feed. Small differences are expected, especially for deep ITM/OTM options or near expiration.
Add a free Finnhub API key in Settings. The terminal will then resolve company names via Finnhub's symbol-search API whenever you type a query.
Add a free FRED API key in Settings. Once configured, the Economic Dashboard appears in the Brief tab. It shows the Sahm Rule indicator, Yield Curve, Michigan Consumer Sentiment, Jobless Claims, and more.
The Canadian Put is a strategy where you buy a deep In-the-Money (ITM) call instead of selling a cash-secured put. Because a deep ITM call's extrinsic (time) value is equivalent to the premium of the same-strike put, you capture a similar income but with less capital at risk. The calculator compares the two side by side for every near-20-delta strike.
